The international Rheinsberg Palace Chamber Opera festival takes place every year against the picturesque backdrop of the palace, where audiences are captivated by the voices of young singers from around the world.

This open-air opera festival is a true highlight of the Rheinsberg calendar of events. Every year more than 20,000 visitors come to the Ruppiner Land region to hear great works sung by the rising stars of the international opera scene. The opera workshop, which has been running since 2001, helps young composers to get started with creating new operas. A must for all opera lovers!

The history of the charming royal seat and baroque town of Rheinsberg on the river Rhin is inextricably linked with its palace and the Hohenzollern ruling family. As well as the interior of the palace itself ,it is also worth exploring the extensive grounds with the Kavalierhaus and park. One architectural gem in the centre of town is the Church of St. Lawrence which houses a number of sacred works of art.

The Ruppiner Land region is not only renowned for its lakes but also its culture. This little town on the river Rhin became famous through Kurt Tucholsky's book "Rheinsberg: A Picture Book for Lovers" ("Rheinsberg: ein Bilderbuch für Verliebte") and Theodor Fontane's story "Walks through the Brandenburg Marches" ("Wanderungen durch die Mark Brandenburg"). World-class musical events, theatre productions and readings take place al year round in the magnificent surroundings of the Palace Theatre.
