Natureza e áreas verdes

The region around Schwangau and Füssen, a mix of high mountains, rolling Alpine foothills and almost flat lakeland is a paradise for walkers and hikers, with trails ranging from an easy stroll to a climb. Tegelberg mountain, the peak below Mount Branderschrofen is a popular destination for nature lovers. Lake Forggensee has many aspects. As well as being a great recreational facility for visitors, its is also a reservoir which reveals a historical settlement site when it is drained in winter. Schwanseepark below Hohenschwangau Castle was created by the landscape gardener Carl August Sckell at the behest of Crown Prince Maximilian and is now open to the public.

Tegelberg mountain
Tegelberg mountain (1,720m) near Schwangau is one of the Allgäu region's most popular destinations for a day out - particularly for mountain walkers, hang gliders and paragliders, not to mention wintersports fans. The Tegelbergbahn cable car takes you up to its summit, the gateway to the Ammergebirge mountains, the largest nature conservation area in Bavaria. Experienced skiers and snowboarders can access the well-prepared main Tegelberg piste by travelling up in the large, state-of-the-art cable cars, whilst hikers and sunbathers can enjoy the stunning natural scenery. Find out many fascinating facts about art and culture on the "Schutzengelweg" culture trail. The Ahornreitweg nature trail down Tegelberg mountain towards the old Bleckenau hunting lodge is also impressive.
