Palm Sunday is celebrated each year on the Georgenau farm estate near Möttlingen with a horseback procession led by a donkey. This is followed by an open-air Protestant church service. This event commemorates Christ's entry into Jerusalem riding a donkey as he was welcomed by crowds waving palm leaves. The town must be very grateful to this small fruit to hold a festival in its honour. Every year on the second weekend in September, at the end of the plum harvest, Bühl celebrates the fruit which represents its main source of income and which it sells all over the world. The festival figurehead is the Plum Queen, also known as the Blue Queen. In addition to a parade there is a varied programme of events and music accompanied by plenty of food and drink.
