Lovely views and absolute peace and quiet are the hallmarks of Beinberg, one of the last, well preserved German "Waldhufendörfer" or row villages. This type of settlement is characterised by a clearly divided hierarchy of land uses, such as farmyard, domestic garden, agricultural land, pasture and forest, with each farmstead separated by long, parallel hedges. The Planets Trail in Liebenzell's spa gardens was opened just in time for the total eclipse of the sun in August 1999.
