The Municipal Museum was founded in 1861 thanks to an initiative by the people of Braunschweig. At the start of the 20th century it was moved into a new building on Löwenwall road which since then has been renovated and extended. With its exhibits relating to guilds, trades and industry, ethnology, music and the study of coins the Municipal Museum houses one of the most comprehensive collections of Braunschweig's art and cultural history.Photography Museum
