Formerly the Cottbus local history museum, the municipal museum presents the history and cultural history of the town and surrounding area. Several times a year, the museum has special exhibitions dedicated to a number of particularly interesting themes. The municipal museum also houses the Cottbus town archives.Brandenburg Pharmacy Museum
The Pharmacy Museum is housed in the 400-year-old Löwenapotheke (Lion's Pharmacy) building on Altmarkt square. The museum features fully-furnished pharmaceutical premises dating from around 1830 and from the first half of the 20th century. Other impressive highlights include three fully-furnished apothecary workshops with a historical pharmaceutical collection, receptacles, equipment and books.
