Friedrichshafen, the trade fair town famed for the Zeppelin, is situated in the middle of the German shoreline of Lake Constance and is home to leading industrial companies such as ZF, MTU and EADS. Its Exhibition Centre was newly built only a few years ago. Also, Friedrichshafen is the centre of volleyball in Germany.

In Friedrichshafen the focus is on sport and leisure exhibitions as well as specialised trade fairs such as OutDoor, EUROBIKE, INTERBOOT and FAKUMA, all large trade gatherings. 15 to 20 trade fairs and exhibitions take place every year, with a total of around 6,000 exhibiting companies. This attracts the attention of more than 500,000 visitors and 3,000 journalists from 30 countries.

The recently built Exhibition Centre in Friedrichshafen is situated in the north of the town facing the airport and the Zeppelin hangar. The lake integrated into the inner courtyard, the state-of-the-art facilities and a compact, rapid-access layout make it a particularly appealing trade fair location. "Graf-Zeppelin-Haus" is widely regarded as one of the most modern and elegant conference centres in Germany.
