Eventos
In Landau, festivals and wine go hand in hand and provide lots of opportunities for celebrating and feasting. Examples of such festivals include the Landau summer festival and the Landau autumn market. At the end of the year the Thomas Nast Christmas market with its handicraft stalls really puts visitors in the mood for the festive season. Landau summer festival
This three-day festival provides plenty of entertainment on several stages in the centre of town. A variety of individual artists and bands play a wide range of music for all ages including swing, jazz, pop and rock. During the festival the town is transformed into a huge open-air concert venue for up to 50,000 visitors. There are also over 40 stalls selling food and drink. Landau autumn market
The Landau autumn market is the largest public festival in the southern Palatinate region. It has something for everyone, with lots of special events and attractions in addition to the usual festival activities. The market, live music and fairground rides help to create a great atmosphere. The "wine village" serving wines from the Landau region is very popular, as is the "Fressgasse" (food alley). Thomas Nast Christmas market
When the scent of pine is in the air in the square by Landau town hall and when the smell of sweet waffles, glühwein and cinnamon biscuits wafts up your nose, then it's time to visit the Thomas Nast Christmas market with its many handicraft stalls. The market is named after the famous American cartoonist Thomas Nast who was born in Landau and is credited with creating the popular image of Santa Claus in the New World. In the centre of the square by the town hall is a nativity scene in which hand-carved wooden figures bring the advent story to life.
