Jewellery is a theme that is examined from a number of perspectives in Pforzheim. Even the Museum of Technology documents the history of the town's traditional industry in its exhibits. Pforzheim's Museum of Jewellery and Watchmaking Technology does not focus on the end products of the jewellery industry but rather on production processes and their development over the centuries. There are more than 700 machines on display which illustrate the increasing levels of specialisation, and museum staff demonstrate how pieces of jewellery are actually created.Museum of East German History
"Lest we forget": the main aim of this private collection on the history of East Germany is to ensure that we do not. It consists of a variety of objects relating to life in the former German Democratic Republic. These include part of the Berlin Wall and an original electric fence from the internal German border. There are also guided tours through the museum led by contemporary witnesses. The collection is the most diverse of its kind in Germany. Only open on Sundays.
