O Museu de História Natural Senckenberg em Frankfurt am Main é considerado como sendo o maior museu de história natural da Alemanha, com uma coleção impressionante de exposições do mundo da biologia e da geologia. A dinosaur with cult status
Built alongside the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in 1904-1907, Senckenberg Natural History Museum offers a fascinating blend of top international research, education and culture. The research collection is one of the biggest in Europe, providing a first-rate natural history experience. The museum presents four billion years of Earth history and the diversity of life with a number of impressive exhibits: dinosaurs, anacondas, fossils from the Messel Pit Fossil Site, whales, elephants and marine creatures. Visitors can also "tour" evolution, geological history and the rainforest. This acclaimed natural history museum attracts around half a million visitors of all ages every year.

The models of a Tyrannosaurus rex and a Diplodocus in front of this temple of science are clearly visible from afar. The full-size replicas bare their mighty teeth to the city. Once inside the building, visitors follow the tracks set into the floor to the kingdom of the giant lizards in a covered atrium. Highlights include an original dinosaur fossil complete with scaly skin and a preserved anaconda that is in the process of swallowing a water-hog whole. With around 1,000 specimens, the museum also has one of the world's largest exhibitions of stuffed birds. One of the main attractions of the newly designed exhibition documenting geological history and life on earth is a wheel of time, which can be used to take the earth 750 million years into the past or 250 million years into the future.
