Museus
There is a wealth of museums in Ingolstadt offering an extensive range of cultural attractions. With its "museum mobile", the Audi Forum in Ingolstadt is a sheer delight for car enthusiasts, while those wishing to learn more about the town's history will be in their element at the municipal museum. Behind the walls of the New Castle - an attraction in itself - is the Bavarian Army Museum. museum mobile
As the name suggests, the "museum mobile" is dedicated to mobility! It has "driving walls", vehicles displayed in a paternoster lift and interactive exhibits aimed at increasing the visitor's technical understanding. At the centre of the Audi Forum Ingolstadt, the Audi AG museum presents more than 50 cars as well as 30 motorbikes and bicycles from the company's history and documents the fascinating history of the automobile. Municipal Museum
The Kavalier Hepp fortification houses the Ingolstadt municipal museum, which has 32 rooms documenting the town's history. Visitors can experience the past close-up in sections dedicated to Stone Age cultures, Roman times, Jesuit culture, printing in Ingolstadt, crafts and much more besides. Bavarian Army Museum
The construction of the New Castle was commissioned by Duke Ludwig the Bearded in 1418. This mighty building with walls that are up to three metres thick is an impressive attraction in itself, but it also houses the Bavarian Army Museum. Exhibits at the museum include armour, weapons, flags and pictures. A special exhibition dedicated to the First World War is also on show at the former Reduit Tilly fortress.
