The world of the car
VW's Autostadt in Wolfsburg, an exhibition complex and theme park, is almost a complete town in itself, with its canal, hotel, restaurants and excellent shops. It's not just for car lovers or people picking up brand new vehicles. There are different stores selling car-related products.

As you might expect in a town built on car production, Wolfsburg has lots of attractions based around cars, technology, science and innovation. The best known one is VW's Autostadt automotive exhibition complex and visitor centre where you can explore the world of the motor car.

Even in Wolfsburg's museums the car takes centre stage. At the Car Museum you can learn all about the history of the Volkswagen Group. Exhibits in the Municipal Museum describe the rapid development of the 1930s "KdF" car. There is also lots of information on the history of the town and Wolfsburg Castle. The Hoffmann von Fallersleben Museum documents the life of the German poet August Heinrich Hoffman von Fallersleben.
