Sugestão de excursões

The region has a wealth of natural attractions to explore - verdant foreshores, white sandy beaches, ever-changing scenery, sections of coast lined by dikes and miles of unique coastal wetlands dotted with Hallig islands. It also has plenty of tranquil villages and pretty towns to stroll around. Not far away is St. Peter-Ording, the "biggest sandpit in the world", and the small Dutch village of Friedrichstadt with its canals and stepped gables.

St. Peter-Ording
At 12km long by 2km wide, the beach in St. Peter-Ording is the widest on Germany's North Sea coast and claims to be the world's biggest sandpit! St. Peter-Ording is the largest holiday resort on the Eiderstedt peninsula and is divided into three areas: Böhl, Bad and Ording. Visitors can swim, walk and enjoy a variety of sporting activities on land or at sea. Windsurfing and sand-yachting are particularly popular. There are many events and sports competitions during the summer.

Trips to the seal banks
By taking a boat trip to the seal banks in the North Sea, visitors can observe these animals in their natural habitat. Boats sail from Tönning for the Eider seal banks in the Wattenmeer National Park.

Friedrichstadt
Friedrichstadt was founded in 1621 by Duke Friedrich III and Dutch migrants. It is a neat little town known for its canals and its charming architecture - almost all the buildings in the historical quarter have stepped-gable frontages like those in Amsterdam, hence the town's nickname "Litttle Amsterdam". A pleasure boat tour of this fascinating town leaves a lasting impression.
