Augsburg is considered the most important city in the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart after Vienna and Salzburg. Wolfgang's father, Leopold Mozart, was born in Augsburg on 14 November 1719 at Frauentorstrasse 30, now the Mozart House. Not only did Leopold discover his son's musical genius, he was also his music teacher, his only mentor and his "tour manager". The redesigned Mozart House has an exhibition of paintings, engravings and prints portraying Mozart's Swabian family, Leopold Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus, his European tours and original instruments of his day.The Augsburg Puppet Theatre
