Germany's eighth-largest trade fair centre enjoys a central location in the middle of the Rhine/Ruhr region, which has the highest rate of investment in Europe, and also ranks as its most densely populated urban area. The exhibition grounds are just 20 minutes from Düsseldorf airport and 5 minutes from Essen main railway station, and are well serviced by the autobahns and public transport. Essen Exhibition Centre has an exhibition space of 110,000m² with 18 directly interconnected exhibition halls. The naturally lit Hall 3, the longest column-free hall in Europe, and the Galeria, designed by star architect Mario Bellini, are particularly impressive features of the exhibition centre. There are also four outdoor areas with a total exhibition space of 20,000m² as well as three conservatory function rooms.
